DOUG SMITH composes, performs and teaches fingerstyle acoustic guitar in Portland, Oregon, and tours nationally giving workshops and concerts. Doug won a Grammy (2005 Best Pop Instrumental Album category) for his solo guitar work on the tribute CD to Henry Mancini titled Pink Guitar with 11 other fingerstyle guitarists on the Solid Air label.  Doug has placed in the “top five” for three consecutive years at the prestigious Winfield International Fingerstyle guitar competition, taking FIRST place as the 2006 champion at this year’s Walnut Valley Festival in Kansas (www.wvfest.com).  His beautiful original recordings have been played on national radio, movie soundtracks, TV shows and commercials. Doug also performs as part of Portland’s Acoustic Guitar Summit, which includes fingerstyle greats Terry Robb and Mark Hanson. DON MITCHELL claims that he could sing before he could talk -- maybe so!  An original folkie from the Northwest, Don grew up performing with several garage bands and honed his musical ear, voice and guitar playing during his formative years.  Don is the lead instructor at the Fries School of Piano Tuning and Technology in Vancouver USA.  His knack both for humor and for locating those ‘difficult to find’ harmonies makes the Three Together trio a truly unique “gotta hear ‘em live” group for these times.

JUDY KOCH SMITH (yes, they’re married now) grew up playing music with her 4 sisters in Cleveland, Ohio.  Transplanted to the NW to teach at the Washington State School for the Blind in 1993 with her then 6-year-old son, Vincent, she still teaches Orientation and Mobility in Vancouver and Portland.  Meeting these two excellent musicians, performing and producing their first album Sorting it Out, has provided Judy with the much needed “outlet” to have fun and perform in a creative way.  She even talked Vince (Freed) into laying down some electric guitar tracks on All Over the Map, which includes drum work by WSSB student Vaughn Brown.
